Slick Gi Choke! The Slarce
Переглядів 1,9 тис.3 роки тому
The Slarce Choke! It’s a variation of the Darce that uses the Sleeve hence ‘Slarce’. The Slarce choke is a great Gi choke that is pretty sneaky and also slick. I first saw this choke from one of my blue belts back in 2013. He went to a Good Fight tournament(before they were sub only) and had 6 matches...and won all 6 by Slarce. It wasn’t until I watched Jeff Glover’s Darcepedia instructional dv...

Craig Jones Finishing Mechanics of the Outside Heel Hook
Переглядів 34 тис.3 роки тому
In this video BJJ Superstar Craig Jones goes over some of the finer details of finishing the Outside Heel Hook. As the sport of Submission Grappling rapidly evolves, we're seeing the outside heel hook's effectiveness slowly regress. However, that shouldn't be the case. The issue of the outside heel hook is not that it's loosing it's effectiveness but rather athletes of this generation are less ...

“I don’t hole (roll)” - Jay Queiroz (fake black belt)
Awesome!!!!
Purple belt from 13 years ago here. Started teaching a colleague after work and we are training for an hour once a week. Got him to start drilling 5 minutes everyday before we goto the gym to workout. This video was a GREAT review with all the details I needed for moves I used a lot many years ago. I am going to use my daily drill time this and next week to practice these three moves. I know it is 9 years too late, but THANK YOU!
I'm new to single leg x but find it super helpful for guard work so far. Is it a bad idea to use in self defence / mma though since you're in striking range? Just wanted to check that detail so I don't pull it if I find myself in trouble on the street.
Excellent reference video!!!
Mermaid is an awesome move.. I learned it as a white belt, but I didn't understand how to set it up or anything, and I'd fail at it and thought it was a crumby idea. But then one time at a tournament I saw a guy hold my teammate in a mermaid for like a minute and then the guy took the back or mount or something. But I was like damn that's a great position after all. I set my mind to researching how to do it and it brought me to Leandro Lo and how he would use it. Lo had a magnificent ability to catch it on a standing opponent. That is very hard to do and he made it look easy. Goddamn.
Thank you
👍

can get a green band and look like hamas
I will try that tomorrow wish me luck
Damn, that was the shit right there. Great advice and great tweaks and the reset and etc
Thank you very much. How are preventing the d'arce or guillotine when you're getting the underhook? My partners are usuall able to lock it up and i am almost always able to sweep them and then pass to side control but once in a while a more experienced partner will finish me with it. I'd ideally like to not have them lock up the d'arce or guillotine at all. Is it just a matter of getting deeper and faster? Thank you for any advice.
That's exactly how I learned it from Travis newaza, except when pushing the foot behind you, he points the tip of the elbow onto the top of the foot driving the elbow into the metatarsals thus extending/flexing the foot. Super painful, I usually get the tap before even heel exposure.
slick
Nice I’ve been stuck getting clean darce chokes (short arms here ) took a lot from the tip
I'm happy to hear that!

Great stuff professor just starting to understand this stuff, this is so useful 👍
Just an update, I learn this from this video and a couple weeks later used in a comp to get takedowns. Thx man 🙏🙏
For a long time I have watched this video, this is really treasure
You should do a follow up video with the finishes or submissions next steps
Got stuck with this at a tournament today bc I never heard of it. I managed to win, but it was effective while my opponent was holding it. I just got lucky he tired out.
This is super helpful and easy to digest. I hope I'll be able to make use of these soon, since I use lockdown a bunch to slow bottom half guard situations down and hardly know what to do with it.
looks dangerous
Thanks
How about an option to go for the legs after the sit out against the arm on the neck instead of going for your own headlock. Does that work?
Yes it does, you can go to the hips and grab a wrist ride or get a body lock I actually prefer to grab a wrist ride! DAGESTANI HANDCUFF🤣

i was looking at mmashreded video about sambo and then there was this same dude damm he looks so diffrent without facial hair but still as good
qrwa nice ande effective thx:D
Thanks!!!!
Thanks for this. Just curious: did you also adapt your rolling? If so, how?
When the injury initially happened yes, i most definitely did. As I healed I was able to get back to rolling without restrictions. I would say they i became hyper-aware of my neck and was able to develop very good headlock/guillotine defense.
